JAN 20 – Rayne Mardi Gras Parade & Gumbo Cookoff

Join the community of Rayne at 2PM for the parade that will travel its normal route down The Boulevard. The Cook-Off will be at the Frog Festival Pavilion where the parade will end. The Cook-Off and After Party will have family-friendly entertainment, $5 sampling of gumbo, music, dancing, and 50/50 raffle. Come out to join in on the fun! JAN 26 – Bayou Mardi Gras Parade – New Iberia

JAN 27 – Welsh Mardi Gras Run & Parade

FEB 3 – Krewe of Carnivale en Rio Mardi Gras Parada

Downtown to Cajun Field, Lafayette. 6:30 pm.

Featuring over 30 colorful floats, dazzling lights and dancers, our parade boasts beads and custom maracas made to shower on the faithful parade-goers.

FEB 4 – Krewe of Ezana Mardi Gras Parade – Jeanerette, 1:00 pm.


FEB 4 – Courir de Mardi Gras – Old-Fashion Mardi Gras Run – Vermilionville

300 Fisher Rd, Lafayette. 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Come out to Vermilionville to experience a traditional Mardi Gras run. The whole family can participate in this interactive event where the Basile Mardi Gras Association shares in the medieval traditions of the Courir de Mardi Gras. Disguised revelers, led by Le Capitaine and singing La Chanson de Mardi Gras will make their way through the historic village begging for the ingredients to make a gumbo.

10 a.m. – The event will begin with a screening of Pat Mire’s iconic Mardi Gras documentary, “Dance for a Chicken,” which reveals the secrets and history of the rural Mardi Gras run or Courir.

11 a.m. – Musician Kevin Rees will demonstrate the use of the, “Chanson de Mardi Gras,” with the attendees.

11:30 a.m. – The Basile Association will begin run through the historic village and will end with the famous chicken chase for children. After the “run” grab a delicious lunch at Vermilionville’s restaurant, then join us in the dancehall for live music.

1 p.m.-4 p.m. – Live music with the band T’Monde.

FEB 9-13 – Cajun Mardi Gras Festival – Eunice

The Cajun Mardi Gras Festival is Eunice’s largest community event of the year with 5 days of Street Dances, Live Music, Cajun Cuisine & Crafts. The music and celebrations begin Friday Afternoon until after the parade rolls out on Tuesday Evening.
